Rowan Co-hosts Women?s Health SummitOctober 24, 2001
Rowan University?s Health & Exercise Science Department, the Gloucester County Health Department, the Gloucester County Institute of Technology and several area hospitals will co-host theWomen?s Health Summit at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology, 1360 Tanyard Rd., Sewell on Saturday, October 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The event will feature displays, demonstrations and screenings. Professional speakers include Ellie Mack, director of Cancer Outreach and coordinator of the Breast Cancer Program at the Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Twenty Rowans students will assist throughout the day. Several will perform body fat analysis screening and computerized health risk assessment.
Janet Ahrens, a Health and Exercise major, is interning with the Gloucester County Department of Health as the project?s assistant coordinator. Ahrens said her education at Rowan trained her in preparing for the project.
