Three Rowan Students Earn Undergraduate Research Award

The Society of Physics Students has selected Rowan University's Bart Seider, a 21-year-old Physics major from Williamstown; Leo Wong, a 20-year-old Electrical and Computer Engineering major from Mt. Laurel; and Keith McDonald, a 22-year-old Physics major from Sewell as 2003-2004 Undergraduate Research Award Winners for their proposal <+>Construction of an Apparatus to Study Fast Atomic Recombination in Ultracold Plasmas.<+>

The proposal was one of 13 received by the Society of Physics Students, and it earned the trio $2,000 to begin work on their project. The 2003-2004 Undergraduate Research Award is funded through donations from members of Sigma Pi Sigma, the physics honor society.

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a professional association explicitly designed for students. Membership, through collegiate chapters, is open to anyone interested in physics. Members also major in chemistry, computer science, engineering, geology, mathematics, medicine, and other fields.
