Two Camden County Residents Honored by Rowan University DeanApril 14, 2004
GLASSBORO? Two Rowan University students from Camden County were honored as outstanding graduating seniors by Dr. Jay Harper, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Harper cited one student from each major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences during a recognition tea in April.
Christopher J. Lanci, of Sicklerville, was honored as the outstanding graduating senior in chemistry and biochemistry. He is currently involved in a National Institutes of
Health-sponsored research project designing peptide derivatives for a protein, a possible regulator in prostate cancer. He was described as a brilliant and self-motivated student?who demonstrates an unusual sense of commitment and dedication to his studies. Lanci plans to attend graduate school to study biochemistry.
Marianne Stadel, of Somerdale, was honored as the outstanding graduating senior in biology. She currently serves as the Biology Club president and is involved with the Sea Education Association conducting independent marine science research aboard a research and sailing vessel. She was described as a student who excels in her course work, consistently reaching beyond what is expected in class?and always striving to learn more. Stadel plans to attend graduate school to study marine sciences.
