

2012 Commencement
(May 15, 2012)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was Jack Collins, a Glassboro State alumnus, basketball coach and the longest serving speaker in New Jersey Assembly history. Collins discussed that with a college degree, students have the fundamentals for a successful career and his definition of success. Also, Rowan University awarded its Distinguished Alumnus Award to David Girgenti, founder of WishUponAHero.com.
2011 Commencement(May 13, 2011)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was Keith Campbell, a trustee of the Rowan University Foundation Board and Chairman of the Board at Mannington Mills Inc. Campbell discussed his love of Rowan and the South Jersey region. He provided words of wisdom and encouragement for the Class of 2011. Also, Rowan University awarded its Distinguished Alumnus Award to Brian O'Malley ('81), president and chief executive officer of Domino Foods Inc.
2010 Commencement(May 14, 2010)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was Lisa P. Jackson, an administrator with the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Jackson used her life experiences to help convey an inspirational message to the Class of 2010. The ceremony also recognized Dr. Marque Allen, a Class of '91 graduate, as the winner of the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
2009 Commencement(May 15, 2009)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was David Girgenti, of Cherry Hill, a 1993 graduate of Rowan and founder of the internationally recognized Wish Upon A Hero, an online community where visitors post wishes that others help fulfill. At the undergraduate ceremony, the University also presented an honorary degree to world-renowned opera singer Barbara Dever, of Pitman, and its distinguished alumnus award to Patricia Assip Allen, of Freehold.
2008 Commencement(May 16, 2008)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Leonard Pitts, Jr. At the undergraduate ceremony, the University also presented an honorary degree to Rock music legend Patti Smith and Dr. James A. Kutsch, Jr., president of The Seeing Eye, Inc.
2007 Commencement(May 11, 2007)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was the Hon. James R. Zazzali, chief justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
2004 Commencement(May 14, 2004)
The undergraduate commencement speaker was the The Honorable Sean O'Keefe, administrative head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). At the undergraduate ceremony, the University also presented honorary degrees to O'Keefe; Dr. Michael Apple, John Bascom Professor in the Departments of Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and Thomas N. Bantivoglio, partner in the Haddonfield-based law firm Archer & Greiner.
