Palmquist discussed how Operation Warm gets coats, often through schools and nonprofit organizations, to children as well as Operation Warm's efforts to help Hurricane Sandy survivors.

The book talks about ways people and the government can protect themselves and their communities against electromagnetic pulses. Don is a registered professional engineer, retd., holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Maryland. He is past CEO of three small Electromagnetic Compatibility companies in metro Washington, D.C., one of which traded on NASDAQ.

He has consulted for two of the top fifteen franchises in the world, and has founded numerous successful companies. He currently sits on the Board of Directors at Liberty Tax Service.

Rasmussen spoke about what made her want to get involved in career consulting, which started as her writing resumes for her friends in college. Her role on the show is to make sure her husband, Jay, is bringing home profitable antique items and co-owning JC Woodworking. Chaikin discussed what goes into a typical episode of "Abandoned," and how she met her husband. Finally, Chaikin spoke about funny stories that go on behind the scenes.
