Olga El and Lasha Naziara, dancers, shared information about a dance group that they direct: Kandake Dance Theatre Company. Based out of New York, the company is comprised of a collection of dancers and performers of all different backgrounds. The women consider the company as a dance group for social change. Hawthorne gave insight on his background and training. In addition, Hawthorne gave a reading of a summary of research findings and personal observations. Finally, Hawthorne explained how he comes to his conclusions and inspirations for his poetry.
