For
Windows XP to be able to use the built-in 802.1x client, the Wireless
Zero Configuration Service must be active. If your wireless card setup
software has disabled the Wireless Zero Config service, these instructions
will aid you in re-activating that service.
To
begin open the Control Panel by clicking on the Start
Menu, then choose "Control Panel".

From
the Control Panel, double-click "Administrative Tools",
as seen above.

Double-click
"Services", as seen above.

In
the Services window, scroll down until you see the Wireless
Zero Configuration service, as seen above. Right-click on
that service and choose "Properties".

In
the Wireless Zero Configuration Properties window, change the "Startup
type" to "Automatic".
Once
you have done this, click the "Start" button
to immediately start the Service. Finally, click "OK" to
save the new settings.

on to the Windows XP 802.1x Authentication Setup page
