Need
a fire, elevator, emergency phone or fax/modem line?
Because
Rowan uses a digital telephone switch, fax machines and modems
cannot be used on a standard Rowan telephone connection. Fire, elevator and emergency phones also fall into this category. Instead,
a special "analog line" must be installed at the
location where you wish to use these lines. Special
equipment in our telephone switch is required to support each
analog line. Hence, the following policy is in effect:
- Analog
line installation requires the approval of:
- for
Division of Academic Affairs: the appropriate Dean or
Associate Provost or the Provost;
- for
other Divisions: the appropriate Vice President
- A
one-time charge of $250 will be added to the telephone bill
for the office ordering the analog line
- Once
the Office of Information Resources has received the
approval form (this is a Microsoft Word Document), a
work order will be placed to install the analog line.

The $250 charge will be added to the phone bill once the
installation is complete
- Offices
are encouraged to consult with Information Resources when
selecting a fax machine or modem.
- Analog
line installation is not available to students.
