The 2008-2009 was a busy year for Information Resources Training Services. Here are some of the highlights:
· Offered 140 live technology training sessions · Served over 470 attendees · Maintained over 350 online resources · IR Training Center visits increased from over 1,000 to 1,350 per month bringing the total number of visits up to 48,000 since it’s launch in fall 2006.
Major initiatives:
· Redesigned accessibility of online training resources. In response to the campus request, we redesigned the resources section of the
· Expanded training offers for relevant technology development. Offered MS Office 2007 classes in conjunction with the transition from MS Office 2003 to MS office 2007. New offerings included Getting Started with Outlook Calendars Basics, Getting Started in Excel Basics (PC), and Access Queries and Reports (PC).
· Broadened video production capabilities. Purchased Adobe Captivate software to produce online videos. See New Employee Videos for a list of videos produced and to view them.
· Expanded channels of communication with the campus community. Communication has increased through campus announcements, campus mail, personalized emailed, the launch of a Facebook page, and through our open house, Technopalooza, held in the fall.
