Blackboard Java Issues

Many faculty members are having issues when attempting to upload files into their Blackboard courses. The main culprit is the "My Computer" option not being available while "Getting" files. This is due to a Java error. To remedy the situation, take the following steps:

  1. If you receive a popup message stating "The application's digital signature has an error. Do you want to run the application?" Choose "Run"

  2. If you receive a popup message stating "Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern." Choose "No"

If you are still having problems, you may need to update your computer to the latest version of Java

  1. Go to http://www.java.com
  2. Click the "Free Java Download" option, download and install the latest version of Java
  3. Restart your web browser
