Gabrielle Hillman, PhD

Doctor of Philosophy in Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate '19

My scientific education began at West Chester University of Pennsylvania where I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. I found my passion for research while participating in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program at Rowan University. This program sparked my interest in Molecular Biology and reinforced my decision to pursue graduate school. I am a 5th year PhD student studying mitochondrial gene expression in the lab of Dr. Michael Henry. The wide range of disciplines and collaborative spirit of the motivated faculty at Rowan University lay a strong foundation for me to build my career in research. Update:  Research Scientist at Limelight Bio in Philadelphia, PA.

William Weeks, DO, MBS

Master of Biomedical Sciences Graduate '13
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, RowanSOM '17

I am a graduate of Rutgers University and currently the President of the Class of 2017 at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Rowan University was an integral part of my journey to medical school as it allowed me to reinforce my study skills and develop a foundation of scientific knowledge that I still use today. Without GSBS, I do not believe I would have developed the confidence and discipline needed to excel at a high level in medical school. My professional and personal success in medicine is directly attributable to GSBS and I am so grateful that I was able to participate in this program. Update:  Resident Physician, Dept. of OB/GYN and Women's Health at Atlantic Health System.

Leslie Lafferty, MS

Master of Science in Molecular Pathology and Immunology Graduate '16

The Molecular Pathology and Immunology program allows you to have hands on experience working in a biomedical science laboratory, which not only gave me what I needed to obtain a research position, but also the confidence I needed to become successful in this field. Now I am working as a microbiologist for Genesis Biotechnology Group and also teaching lab based classes as an adjunct professor. I look forward to continuing to grow throughout my career-which all started with Rowan University!  Update:  In 2018, Laboratory Technician II position at WuXi AppTec Advanced Therapies. A year later, received a promotion to Laboratory Technician III.
