HENRY M. ROWAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Dean's Message

The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering is building on our legacy as a leader in engineering education. Over the past five years, we have launched new degree programs, doubling the size of our faculty and student population, while facilitating a rapid growth of our new research mission.

While we work continuously to create a comprehensive college of engineering, we remain true to our foundation as a leader in undergraduate education. In 2018 U.S. News and World Report ranked our program #19 among more than 200 schools in the nation who primarily offer bachelors and masters degrees. This distinction acknowledges that our students receive a minds-on, hands-on, diverse, and interdisciplinary experience that has been widely recognized for its innovative approach. Our students are able to take full advantage of our resources, partnerships, and opportunities that prepare them for careers in high-demand industries.

The Henry M. Rowan Family Foundation’s continued generosity has fostered the development of the College’s inaugural Ph.D. program, as well as the Henry M. Rowan Globalization Fellowship Program and supported infrastructure enhancements in our laboratories. These efforts have enabled us to further develop our collaborations with mission-oriented agencies and leading private sector companies, which enrich both our research and academic missions.

To support the continued expansion of our enrollment and faculty – we have recently cut the ribbon on our new $76 million facility, Engineering Hall, and have completed an $8-million renovation to our original home, Rowan Hall. These projects are a testament to the investments we have made in our programs, and ensure that our students and faculty have the resources necessary to support their research and academic efforts. In the words of Mr. Rowan, “Satisfaction has always been the enemy of progress,” and it is in this spirit that we are never satisfied, always setting a higher bar, and always striving to improve the quality of our programs.

With that we welcome you to visit our College and our programs to see all that we have to offer. Indeed, this is truly and exciting time for both Rowan Engineering and Rowan University.
