Cream Scholarship was established to honor and continue the legacy of Riletta Cream through recognizing a student from the City of Camden for their academic achievements in the classroom and commitment to supporting the Camden community. Riletta, born and raised in Camden, served as principle of Camden High School for 15 yars. Riletta also served as a Camden County Freeholder for five consecutive 3-year terms, before retiring in 2011. The Riletta T. Cream Elementary School was named in honor of Riletta for the service to the City of Camden. Rilatta was also a founding member of Glassboro State College Development Fund, currently, the Rowan University Foundation. A native to the city of Camden, Riletta has made a promise to always support Camden and the education of our youth.

Candidates are selected by the Rowan Global Scholarship Committee based upon the combination of the student's cumulative GPA, submitted written statements, and financial need as determined by Rowan's Financial Aid Office. Tedd Importico began as a student at Rowan in the early 1990's. During his time at Rowan, and beyond, he was known for his sharp wit and personality, as well as his leadership, outspokeness, and ability to connect with people. His passing in July 2013 was too soon, and this scholarship serves as a way to keep his memory alive in addition to the countless stories being shared by friends, family, and loved ones in the days following his passing. Tedd was a native of Waretown, NJ, alumnus from Rowan University, member of the Delta Gamma chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity, proud member of the LGBT community, and was working toward a Law degree at the University of Miami. The goal of the scholarship is to recognize a Rowan University student who embodies Tedds's leadership, inclusion, and individuality. 1).
