Ghina Mahmoud Najjar

Ghina Najjar is the Associate Director of the International Center at Rowan University. Ghina oversees International Student Support Services, provides immigration advising for F-1 International students, and serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). She also plans and implements international student activities, including move-in, orientation, and IC-sponsored events for International Education Week.

Originally from Lebanon, Ghina graduated with high distinction from the Lebanese American University of Beirut with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and International Business in 2007. She was awarded a full merit scholarship to pursue her Master of Business Administration degree at the same university and graduated with her MBA in 2010. Before coming to Rowan, Ghina worked for the distributor of Procter and Gamble and Mars Food in the Middle East as an Associate District Manager. She also worked as a Product Manager for Fast Moving Consumer Goods. She moved to the United States in 2012. She speaks Arabic and French in addition to English.


Zahia Obeid 
International Scholar and Student Adviser, International Center

Zahia Obeid is the International Exchange Visitor Specialist for Rowan University. As Responsible Officer (RO) for the J-Visa Program and Designated School Official (DSO), Zahia provides visa support for all international students and scholars. She also advises university faculty, staff, and visiting scholars on SEVIS guidelines and regulations to ensure legal status in the United States. Furthermore, she provides support services to the entire International Exchange Community (B1/B2 Visa, Training, etc.) at Rowan University’s Glassboro and Stratford campuses, assisting with background checks, orientation, student move-in, Rowan Network arrangements and any other services needed for students and scholars to settle in at Rowan. 

Zahia is originally from Venezuela. She holds a BS with a few credits short of a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. She is certified as an ISO 9000-9001 and was in charge of implementing new Quality Control procedures in Venezuela’s National Oil Company, PDVSA. She also studied Global Business as part of Drexel University’s English Program. Before joining the International Center, she was part of the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at Rowan University, where she was in charge of the Conditional Admission Program and assisted students with their IELP application process. Zahia is fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic.


Katelyn Sullivan

Katelyn Sullivan is the International Student Adviser of the International Center. Kate advises international students on a wide range of issues including immigration, social and cultural adjustments, and employment. She serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) which includes processing and advising new students regarding the Form I-20 and other immigration requests. 

Kate is originally from Stratford, NJ. A proud Rowan alumna, she graduated from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences with dual Bachelor’s degrees in History and Philosophy & Religion in 2015. In 2013, she was awarded an offer from the UK Fulbright Summer Institute at the University of Exeter, where she had the opportunity to study Leadership, Environmental Sustainability, and Southwest England. She also studied Global & Imperial History with students from around the world as part of Exeter’s International Summer School. Kate is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration here at Rowan.


Natasha Olivero
Part-time Administrative Assistant, International Center

Natasha is the Administrative Assistant of the International Center. She provides assistance and support to both IC staff and visitors and enjoys helping international students and scholars navigate Rowan’s campus and online resources. Natasha also oversees all administrative aspects of the IC, including office purchases, budget transfers, travel requests, and managing social media accounts. 

Natasha is originally from Bloomfield, NJ. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rowan University in 2014. She has donated works of art to Rowan University and its affiliated organizations. She is knowledgeable in photography, video production, and Instructional Design. Natasha is fluent in Spanish. 


Andrew Bautista
Program Assistant, International Center

Andrew Bautista is the Program Assistant at the International Center. He assists the Director, the Associate Director and International Student Advisers with the day-to-day operations of the office, which include responding to international student inquiries, maintaining students’ files, processing requests for letters of ineligibility for the Social Security office, and collecting other necessary documents from international students. 

An international student himself, Andrew is familiar with issues related to students on F-1 status and has a deep knowledge of immigration regulations. This skill enables him to help other international students who come to the International Center to inquire about issues related to their status as a foreign student.

Drew, as his friends call him, is a senior at Rowan University majoring in Political Science. He currently serves as the President of the International Club, where he aims to increase the involvement of international students by encouraging them to participate in on-campus activities and acts as their liaison to the Student Government Association (SGA). Drew currently sits as a member of the Campus Hearing Board. Born and raised in the Philippines, Drew is fluent in English and Filipino.


Christopher Rothschild 
Instructor, Pathway Program


Christopher Rothschild is the Instructor of Rowan University’s Pathway Program. In this role, he works with ESL students to develop their proficiencies in academic reading and writing, and to improve their speaking and listening skills. He also partners with both the Intensive English Language Program and Writing Arts Department to foster strong interdepartmental relationships and develop new and innovative course offerings.

Originally from New Jersey, Christopher attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where he earned his BA in English. He then completed his Master’s degree work at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he also served as a member of the English and First-Year Writing faculty for over ten years. Christopher enjoys teaching a wide range of courses—from ESL Composition, to Introduction to World Literatures, to Creative Writing Workshops.
