Rowan’s online Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Law and Justice degree program explores how laws are created, applied, interpreted, and enforced across the justice system. Through an interdisciplinary approach, you’ll study criminal justice from multiple perspectives and gain valuable experience via internships. Courses cover topics like policing, courts, human rights, and criminological theory. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your writing and critical thinking skills to prepare for careers in law and justice or continued academic study.

What You'll Learn
The online bachelor's in law and justice degree program requires you to complete 120 total credits, with at least 30 credits at Rowan University. Pursue the degree on a full-time schedule and graduate in as little as four years, or you can take courses part-time to fit your life and responsibilities. Whether you're just starting your degree or transferring in with previous credits, this program offers the flexibility to move at your own pace.
Within the program, you’ll gain a well-rounded understanding of the justice system and its functions at the local, state and federal levels. Course topics include criminological theory, legal structures and justice policy, as well as writing, research and critical thinking skills. And you have the option to select a complementary concentration in community corrections, crime mapping and crime analysis or forensic studies.
Internship requirement
As part of the law and justice program, you must complete at least one internship experience, and you have the option to do a second if you choose. You can complete your internship in a local legal setting that aligns with your interests and goals. Your advisor and faculty members will provide guidance throughout the process to help you find the right fit.
You’ll also have access to virtual career fairs, guest speakers and pre-law events throughout the year to build experience and make professional connections. Even as an online student, you can still access hands-on learning opportunities.

Looking to save time, reduce cost and keep your education moving forward? Rowan Online offers several advanced pathways to continue your studies in law and justice or earn additional credentials faster. Here are three ways you can accelerate or extend your online law degree:
- 3+1 Program: Complete the first three years of your law and justice degree program at Rowan College of Burlington County (RCBC) or Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), then finish your final year with Rowan Online.
- Accelerated Dual Degree Program (ADDP): Start graduate-level coursework for Rowan’s online Master of Arts (MA) in criminal justice degree program while finishing your bachelor’s degree. This fast-track option allows you to complete both degrees in less time.
- 3+3 BA/Juris Doctor (JD) Program (with partner law schools): Finish your BA in law and justice and begin law school early through Rowan’s partnerships with three law schools. You’ll spend three years at Rowan and then start law school in your fourth year, cutting an entire year off the traditional timeline.

Rowan Online makes it easy to build on the work you’ve already completed at a previous institution. Our online bachelor's degree in law and justice program requires the completion of 120 credits [30 credits must be at Rowan University] of approved general education and major coursework in order to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.

Begin your journey with Rowan Online’s bachelor's degree in law and justice program by submitting the application materials below. After you apply, someone from the Rowan University Office of Admissions will contact you to confirm your application status or request any missing items. There may be additional actions or materials required for admission to the program.
- Completed online application
- No application fee! The application fee is waived for all Rowan Online undergraduate programs.
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of the number of credits earned)
- Associate degree or 24 semester hours of transferable college credits
- Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
Tuition and Aid
Rowan Online offers an affordable path to earning your online law degree, with tuition set at $589 per credit. As a law and justice major, you may also be eligible for program-specific scholarships, including:
