What You'll Learn

Rowan’s online RN to BSN degree program builds on your nursing experience with coursework that strengthens clinical reasoning, leadership, research and communication skills. The 120-credit curriculum meets Rowan’s bachelor’s degree requirements and includes elective options that reflect emerging areas in nursing practice, such as holistic care and healthcare delivery systems.

Real-world learning is a key focus of the program. You’ll participate in 45 clinical hours, including 20–25 hands-on hours, which you can often complete through your current employer or a local placement. And with fully online part-time courses, you can continue working while advancing your education.

Transfer Credit Information

Rowan Online makes it easy to build on the work you’ve already completed at a previous institution. If you’ve graduated from an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)-accredited associate degree or diploma program, you’ll automatically receive 30 nursing credits upon matriculation into the program for all pre-licensure nursing courses.

You can transfer up to 90 total credits toward your BS in nursing degree, and you must fulfill Rowan University’s general education requirements by transferring credits or completing the courses with Rowan. Additional coursework may be required based on your previous credits and academic history.Our advising team is here to help you evaluate your transcript and build a plan to complete your degree as efficiently as possible.

Admission Requirements

To apply to Rowan’s online RN to BSN degree program, start by submitting the materials listed below. Once your documents are received, the Rowan University Office of Admissions will follow up with confirmation or let you know if anything is missing. There may be additional action or materials required for admission to the program.

  • Completed online application
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • Graduation from an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) associate degree or diploma program
  • Current licensure or eligibility to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Jersey
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Current CPR Card
  • Current professional résumé
