Rowan SOM ExamSoft URL:

ExamSoft is software that supports RowanSOM testing processes, including exam creation, administration, delivery, scoring, and analysis. ExamSoft provides data to assess learning outcomes, and allows RowanSOM to monitor student learning, engagement, and retention, and aids with curricular design, test design, and accreditation compliance. ExamSoft is used to administer exams during Years 1 & 2 for most courses at SOM. For general information, visit the ExamSoft web site. RowanSOM users with technical assistance or training needs should contact

Course Directors have the ability to create and categorize exam questions within ExamSoft; categorized question data can be used to assess student learning outcomes within respective courses. In an effort to advance assessment SOM-wide, the Program Evaluation and Student Assessment committee developed a system for categorizing questions by content area, organ system, competency domain, and competency. The RowanSOM ExamSoft Question Creation & Categorization Worksheet and the Guidelines for Determining RowanSOM ExamSoft Categories may help course directors and faculty members to create and categorize their questions using the SOM-wide system. More in-depth information and instructions for tagging may be found on the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) RowanSOM Faculty Resources page.
