Family Medicine Residency Program
- Program Director: George Scott, DPM, DO, FACOFP
- Associate Program Director: Alison Mancuso, DO
Residency Coordinator: Rose M. Rossiter
Our residency program seeks to broaden the scope of knowledge from the medical school curriculum to both inpatient and outpatient clinical practice of medicine. The program is structurally committed to educating physicians in all aspects of family medicine, and our training will qualify him/her to practice in the fields of medicine and surgery.
The Rowan SOM Family Medicine Residency program is uniquely osteopathic in education. While we excel in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy education and treatment, we integrate true Osteopathic Philosophy and Practice while promoting a philosophy of cooperation among our students, residents, and faculty. We have 223 paid faculty here at Rowan-SOM including 21 full time paid faculty in the Department of Family Medicine. This does not include numerous volunteer faculty throughout the community.
In April of 2009, our program received the AOA’s highest approval rating of 5 years.
Additionally, in 2012 we successfully matched 9 outstanding residents making our program # 1 in the nation for Osteopathic Family Medicine Education.
The number of residents for the 2013/2014 academic year is as follows:
OGME 1 – 7
OGME 2 – 9
OGME 3 – 9
TOTAL - 25
