Narrative Medicine Workshop

CMSRU hosts monthly narrative medicine workshops that are open to all members of the CMSRU and Cooper communities. Together, we read a short written piece, reflect on it together, and then write our responses to a prompt inspired by the text. The workshops are a cornerstone of our Narrative Medicine program and a reminder that a reflective practice – both individual and communal – is a powerful tool to help us become more compassionate and humane clinicians.

We offer a wide variety of selectives that focus on Narrative Medicine, including an essay-writing selective called Narrative Medicine and a podcasting workshop called Audio Storytelling. Designed for M1s and M2s, these classes meet multiple times throughout the semester and are designed to help students develop and workshop a creative piece, readying it for potential publication by the end of the semester.
