Our online Master of Science (MS) in Emergency & Threat Response Management meets the pressing need to fill national, state/regional, local and international leadership gaps that exist in emergency management and homeland security while understanding the growing necessity to build resilience within a whole community approach.

Using a multi-hazard approach to the management of disasters and crises, the curriculum balances theory and practice. The curriculum covers operations management, planning and response, civil unrest, and terrorism with additional options for the study of disaster public health and executive leadership. The degree provides students with a global outlook, interpersonal skills and emergency management knowledge and skills. Students will be prepared for emergency management positions in emergency management and homeland security in government and industry.

Upon receipt of the materials below, a representative from the Rowan University Office of Admissions will contact you with confirmation or will indicate any missing items.

  • Completed Application Form
  • $65 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee
  • Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
  • Current professional resume
  • Typewritten statement of professional objectives
    • Provide reasons for pursuing this program. Describe how you might use this program to advance your career.
  • Two letters of recommendation
    • Letters of recommendation should be from professional administrators and include information which attests to applicant's ability to pursue a graduate degree.
