Promotion

Promotion Schedule -

  • Elect department committees by October 30, 2009 (Friday) Submission of names of committee chairs to Senate.
  • ALL Promotion candidates must sign form indicating their intent to apply for promotion (Office of the Provost - Bole Hall) by October 30, 2009 (Friday)
  • Candidates for full professor submit names of external evaluators to department committee and Dean(departments/deans approve names within two (2) weeks of submission) by October 30, 2009 (Friday)
  • College Promotion Committees are elected, chairs are selected and names of chairs and committee members are submitted to University Senate office by December 1, 2009 (Tuesday)
  • External evaluator assessments submitted to department committee by January 15, 2010 (Monday)
  • Candidates submit folders (7) to department committee by January 15, 2010 (Monday)
  • Department committee concludes work and transmits folders to College Committee (including candidate's response to evaluation if provided) by noon, February 1, 2010 (Monday)

College Committee Duties

  • College committee work concludes by March 1, 2010 (Monday). The chair of college committee ensures that each candidate's folder containing supplementary materials are submitted to the appropriate dean with written recommendations of the college promotion committee (including candidate's response to evaluation if provided)
  • Six copies of each candidate's folders due in Senate office by  March 1, 2010 (Monday)
  • Senate Promotion Committee concludes work by April 1, 2010 (Thursday)
  • Deans conclude work by April 1, 2010 (Thursday)
  • Provost concludes work by April 30, 2010 (Friday)
  • University President concludes work by June 1, 2010 (Tuesday)
  • Board of Trustees acts on promotion recommendations at June  9, 2010 meeting (Wednesday)
