The Office of International Student Services
Student Health Services
The Student Health Center provides short term medical care to students. A doctor is available during scheduled times and nurses are available 24 hours a day. Limited facilities for bed care are provided. Emergency medical insurance is required for all International Students. The $158 annual fee is included in each semester's bill. This policy provides coverage for major medical expenses for services not provided by the University.
Immunization Requirements
Proof of immunization is required for accepted students. Details and forms will be provided to students after they have been admitted and issued an I-20.
All students attending Rowan are required to complete the Health and Immunization forms found on the Health Center Website. If you do not complete health and immunization requirements, you will not be permitted to move in to your assigned housing or begin classes.
The completed forms must be received no later than July 15 for Fall [September] students and December 1 for Spring [January] students.
You are strongly advised to complete all immunizations and tests in your home country. The Health Center can provide immunizations, but they are very expensive [$75- $100 each]. TB test must be completed and lab reports submitted before you come to the United States.

Health Insurance Requirements
New Jersey state law requires all matriculated full-time students to have health insurance. All full time matriculated (F1 Visa Status) students should be automatically enrolled in the university’s student insurance plan.
J visa students cannot use the Rowan Student insurance plan in place of insurance required for exchange visitors.
