Rowan Students Win Awards at National Engineering Competition
November 30, 2004Thirteen Rowan University College of Engineering students recently won awards at the annual American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) meeting held Austin, Texas. The students participated in the Undergraduate Student Poster Session of the meeting. Rowan won second place in the Environmental and Materials Engineering and Sciences divisions and won third place in the Food, Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology division.
In the Environmental division, eight students from different majors worked together to win second place. Their poster was titled Glassboro to Honduras: Engineering Students Making a Difference. The team members are:

Nathan Parks of Ocean City, mechanical engineering

In the Materials Engineering and Sciences division, three students worked together on a poster titled Fabrication of Nanoscale Electrodes for Molecular Characterization. The team members are:

Tim Osedash of Hazlet, electrical and computer engineering
Mike Campolongo of Millville, electrical and computer engineering
Faculty supervisor: Dr. Robert Krchnavek, electrical and computer engineering
In the Food, Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology division, two students worked together on a poster titled Haematococcus pluvialis Growth Conditions for Maximum Astaxanthin Production. The team members are:
