Rowan Professor a <+>Champion of EOF<+>

April 26, 2001

Dr. Corann Okorodudu, a Rowan University psychology professor, was named an <+>EOF Champion<+> by the State of New Jersey Commission on Higher Education Educational Opportunity Fund Board of Directors in March.

Okorodudu, of West Deptford, has continually been an advocate for EOF/MAP (Equal Opportunity Fund/Minorities Achievement Program) students and a supporter of the mission and goals of the program. During the early years of the program, she offered achievement motivation and training workshops during the summer for pre-freshmen students. She has chaired Rowan's task force on <+>Minority Student Recruitment and Retention.<+>

As associate provost for academic affairs in the early 1990s, she provided oversight for the EOF/MAP Self-Study/Strategic Steering Committee, and she has served Rowan's EOF/MAP Program in other ways as well.

Okorodudu's contributions to EOF also have extended to the state level. She served as a co-panelist with members of the New Jersey Department of Higher Education EOF Central office staff on the topic of <+>Strategic Planning for Opportunity Programs: Casting an Eye on the Future,<+> at the Eleventh Annual Conference of the National Educational Opportunity Association, among other works.
