Local Students Tops in State Math ExamApril 04, 2000
Glassboro - Results of the 2000 Annual High School Mathematics
Examination (AHSME) for the State of New Jersey are in ? and local high
school students received some of the highest scores. According to
Rowan University Professor Dr. Evelyn Weinstock, coordinator for the
examination, 5,833 students from 158 high schools and academies
throughout the state participated in this year's exam.
Each year the AHSME is sponsored by the Mathematical Association of
America, Society of Actuaries, Mu Alpha Theta, National Council of
Teachers of Mathematics, Casualty Actuarial Society, American Statistical
Association, American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges
and American Mathematics Society. The exam is sponsored regionally by
the Mathematics Department at Rowan University.
