Henry M. Rowan Speaker Series celebrates 10th anniversary of Rowan EngineeringOctober 29, 2009
Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the College of Engineering at Rowan University, this fall’s Henry M. Rowan Speaker Series Lecture will feature Orlando Carvalho, vice president, Surface-SBMD Systems / general manager, Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors, on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. in the Rowan Hall (College of Engineering) auditorium.
Carvalho will present “Engineering for the Future: Leading When it is Rocket Science.” He will discuss engineering successes and the leadership qualities necessary in the industry. Free and open to the public, the lecture is the inaugural event marking Celebration 2010, a yearlong recognition of the College’s first commencement and a decade of graduates contributing to the New Jersey economy.
Lockheed Martin is a major contributor to the South Jersey economy and an employer of Rowan graduates.
The Henry M. Rowan Speaker Series is sponsored by the Dean’s Advisory Council of the College of Engineering at Rowan University. Speakers from industry, government organizations and academia offer insights that expand classroom experiences.
