Biography

Within her role Cristin Kastner Farney writes creative content, contributing to campaigns, websites and digital publications. She brings to the team over two decades of experience spanning public relations, content strategy and marketing. 

Cristin built a career focused on strategic messaging, audience engagement and brand storytelling after earning a BA in Communication and an MA in Public Relations. Throughout her career, she has contributed to mission-driven nonprofit organizations in education and human services. Her background includes roles in communications, community relations, fundraising, event planning and publications. 

She spearheaded the creation of Rowan Blog, which in August 2024 was recognized by PR Daily’s Content Marketing Awards as best in brand journalism/online newsroom. 

Cristin enjoys sharing her time and talents to spread the love of native plants, partnering with Windy Top Nursery to develop and maintain their social media.  

She also teaches as an adjunct professor, a role she has held for 20 years.
