"How did they make that?"
Join us for a lunch series where digital humanities researchers share their work, show others how to build similar projects, and offer opportunities to discuss new collaborative project ideas.

Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

Rowan University Libraries is partnering with History, English, the Center for Digital Humanities Research, and Women's and Gender Studies faculty to host a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Facilitators will introduce the basics of Wikipedia editing, followed by hands-on editing. During that time the facilitators will also be available to help. Participants can also continue editing online throughout the month, and the facilitators will continue be available throughout the month to help. There are three sessions, and an introduction will be provided at the beginning of each. Lunch will be provided. Feel free to attend any or all sessions!

Douglass Day Transcribe-a-thon
Each February 14, Rowan joins other universities in a nationwide interactive event to transcribe the papers of Frederick Douglass and documents about African American history and make them more widely accessible online. In 2024, our event was featured on CBS News Philadelphia!

Grand Opening of the new
Center for Digital Humanities Research
Rowan leaders, faculty, and students celebrated the opening of the new digital humanities lab space in Bunce Hall 252. Undergraduate and graduate students presented highlights of their latest projects. Read about the opening in Rowan Today.

Historical Map-a-thon
Students and faculty contributed to a crowdsourced project visualizing historical maps of Gloucester County from the Library of Congress Sanborn Maps Collection. Learn more about the event in The Whit.

Digital Humanities Workshops
Workshop topics have included text analysis, network analysis, and digital project planning.

Digital Humanities Student Showcase
Students presented their digital humanities projects to their peers and faculty at the Phi Alpha Theta conference hosted by Rowan in April 2024.
