The Center for Disaster Science, Risks, and Community Resilience is working to strengthen regional disaster readiness and community resilience through an all‑hazards approach, strategic preparedness planning, and enhanced the applied science of emergency management. Serving as a regional hub for collaboration, the Center brings together federal agencies, regional policymakers, academic partners, and local communities to address evolving emergency management challenges.
Grounded in research and applied scholarship, the Center supports evidence‑informed decision‑making and coordinated planning across diverse jurisdictions. Through timely analysis, high‑quality training, and technical assistance, we help public institutions, community organizations, and practitioners build the capacity needed to prepare for, respond to, and recover from complex emergencies. Our work is driven by meaningful community engagement, cross‑sector partnerships, and a commitment to advancing knowledge that strengthens the safety, resilience, and well‑being of communities across the region.
