The STAMP 4S Spanish Placement Exam is required for the initial course placement of all students pursuing the Spanish Major, the Major in Modern Languages & Linguistics (with Spanish chosen as the Advanced language), and the Applied Spanish Program Sequence A of the Liberal Studies: Humanities/Social Sciences B.A.

Spanish Minors and students pursuing the Certificate of Undergraduate Study (CUGS) in Spanish are also encouraged to take the Spanish Placement Exam for initial course placement.

Students may obtain prerequisite waivers for courses based on their Spanish language proficiency as determined by the Spanish Placement Exam.
