What is AmeriCorps NCCC?
AmeriCorps NCCC is a 10-11-month full-time service program for 18-24-year-olds. Members serve in teams across the country to address needs such as disaster response, housing, and environmental stewardship, while building leadership skills. Lodging, travel, and benefits are provided.
Serve as a Team Leader (18+) or Corps Member (18-24 years old) in one of three AmeriCorps NCCC programs:
- Traditional Corps: Complete a variety of hands-on projects in a variety of areas, serving alongside nonprofits, local and state government agencies, and more
- 1 or more classes of candidates per year with service typically beginning in August/September and/or January/February*
- FEMA Corps: Serve alongside FEMA staff in an administrative capacity supporting communities before, during, and after disasters
- 1 class of candidates per year with service typically beginning in January/February*
- Forest Corps: A field based, rigorous service term with USDA U.S. Forest Service, focusing on wildfire risk mitigation, resource management, timber harvest prep, and more
- 1 class of candidates per year with service typically beginning in May/June*

Turn Service into Education at Rowan University
When you complete a service term with AmeriCorps NCCC (Traditional Corps, FEMA Corps, or Forest Corps), you earn the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, a benefit that helps students pay for their education at Rowan University. The award can be used to:
- Assist with tuition for degree programs
- Repay qualified student loans
