The media production field is thriving nationwide. In addition to traditional media production through film and television, nearly every large corporation employs media production specialists for their corporate communications departments. New media is also an expanding area of media production as many companies are incorporating these platforms for content distribution and social media.

The Radio Television and Film Department at Rowan University has been preparing students for media-based careers since 1976.
