Co-Sponsored by Ric Edelman College, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, and the NJ Commission on Holocaust Education
Join the Rowan Center for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights as we explore how objects can be used to spark student curiosity and build historical understanding. Through a series of case studies (outlined below), teachers will leave this workshop with easily-adaptable materials and strategies for their classrooms.

A Framework for Using Objects to Teach Hard Histories, Dr. Jennifer Rich, Executive Director of the Rowan Center for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights
The Material World of the American Revolution, Dr. Jen Janofsky, Giordano Fellow in Public History at Rowan University and Director of Red Bank Battlefield Park.
Everyday Objects and the Lived Experiences of Holocaust Survivors, Dr. Elizabeth Anthony, Director of Visiting Scholar Programs at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Analyzing 9/11 Photographs, Anthony Gardner, Founder of the September 11th Education Trust.
