Biography

JOTHIKA GORUR received her initial training from Smt. Shobhitha Ravi. As of 2024, she is under the direction of Ranee and Aparna Ramaswamy. Jothika has won prizes at US cultural events, including 1st place at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and has performed within the US, India (Bangalore), and Greece (Athens). In college, she captained Nrityamala, Pittsburgh's premiere Indian classical dance team and served on the Executive Board of Dhirana, its annual intercollegiate dance competition. Since graduating, she has judged competitions including Dhirana, TAAZA, and Nakshatra. Jothika was a 2023 YUVA Residency Artist, co-creating AVIKATHITHA. Her solo Kaikeyi Atma Sambhashan received praise from the NYT best-selling author, Vaishnavi Patel. Jothika has taught workshops for institutions such as Desi Dance Convention, AATMA Performing Arts, and Origins Championship.
