Biography

Praised by The Washington Post for her “gorgeous singing” and named “the one to listen to” by the Deseret News, Bridgette Gan is a dynamic performer and voice educator equally at home in opera, concert, and musical theater repertoire. She has appeared as a principal artist with Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Palm Beach Opera, Central City Opera, Opera Idaho, Pacific Symphony, and Utah Festival Opera, among others. This upcoming season, Ms. Gan returns to Opera Orlando as Magnolia in Show Boat, reunites with baritone Scott Johnson and pianist Jeff Uhlig for a return tour of Let's Duet: Holiday and Broadway, and appears in recital with pianist Akiko Hosaki for Journey of Lieder at Westminster Choir College. Recent engagements include Opera Orlando's A Decade of Divas concert, Female Soldier in The Falling and the Rising with Opera Idaho, Handel's Messiah with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the Wheeling Symphony.

Bridgette maintains a thriving private voice studio in Ewing, NJ, and currently serves as Resident Voice Instructor at Hopewell Valley High School and as a voice instructor at The George School. She has taught singers of all ages and levels of experience, both in person and virtually, and has served as a Music Fellow and International Voice Instructor with Broadway Arts Education, providing individual and group instruction to students participating in the Shanti Bhavan Project in Bangalore, India. As a guest teaching artist, she has presented masterclasses at Harvard University, Boston Conservatory, Tufts University, The College of New Jersey, and Los Robles Children’s Choir in Los Angeles, among others.
