Pathway to DO Program
Outstanding students in our Biomedical Sciences program are guaranteed an interview at Rowan-Virtua SOM. Here is what you need to qualify for a guaranteed interview at Rowan-Virtua SOM.
- Matriculated TBES Biomedical Science program students:
- Cumulative overall undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Have a 503 MCAT total score or higher.
- Have a 126 MCAT Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems score or higher
- Have earned a minimum of 18 credits* with a 3.60 overall GPA in the TBES Biomedical Sciences program. *18 credits must be standard letter grades (not “P” for “Pass” grade); additional credits can be P for Pass.

- Upload all new TBES course grades into AACOMAS.

Pathway to PA Program
Rowan University offers guaranteed interview pathways for qualified students seeking entry into the Rowan-Virtua SOM Physician Assistant (PA) Program through the following structured academic routes:
MS in Biomedical Sciences / Guaranteed PA Interview Pathway
Students enrolled in the Rowan University MS in Biomedical Sciences program who meet outlined academic and experiential requirements will receive a guaranteed interview for the PA Program.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Enrolled full-time in the MS in Biomedical Sciences program at Rowan University.
- Have earned a minimum of 15 credits* with a 3.20 overall GPA in the TBES Biomedical Sciences program before submitting the application. *15 credits must be standard letter grades (not “P” for “Pass” grade); additional credits can be P for Pass.
- No withdrawals or repeated courses allowed during the MS program.
Additional Requirements:
- Complete ≥ 350 hours of direct patient care and ≥ 40 hours of community service.
- Meet all standard PA Program prerequisites within 10 years, with no more than two grades of C or C+, all prerequisites must have a grade of “C” or higher.
- Complete all other PA program specific admission requirements within the timeframes outlined.
Application Process:
- Notify the MS program director of intention to apply via this pathway before submitting CASPA.
- Must submit complete CASPA AND supplemental applications by September 1 of the year prior to matriculation (preferred by July 15).
Matriculation Conditions:
- Final admission is contingent upon completion of the full TBES Biomedical Science MS program and maintenance of GPA and professional standards.
- Admission is not guaranteed; only the interview is guaranteed if all requirements have been met, this is not a direct acceptance or accelerated dual degree pathway.
