MS in Histopathology, class of 2026
I sought the MS in Histopathology program knowing that it would prepare me for a future career as a physician. As I reflect on my time in the program, I can confidently say that I have developed a comprehensive understanding of disease detection and progression on a cellular and molecular level, as well as hands-on proficiency in valuable laboratory techniques.
The most meaningful aspects of the program were understanding how histopathology directly informs patient care and how the skills I have acquired translate across a variety of sectors in science and medicine. I look forward to making a difference in the lives of patients and communities with the academic expertise I have gained at Rowan-Virtua TBES.

MS in Histopathology, class of 2026
My journey through the Histopathology program has been incredibly rewarding and has allowed me to develop both technical and professional skills. Throughout the program, I've strengthened my study habits, collaboration, teamwork, and professional communication, all of which will support me as I attend veterinary school. In addition, I've gained hands-on experience across every stage of the diagnostic process, from necropsy and gross examination to tissue embedding, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry. As well as the microscopic evaluation of normal and diseased tissues. These experiences have prepared me to enter veterinary school with a strong foundation as I work toward my long-term goal. Ultimately, my goal is to pursue production animal medicine. Using the training and techniques I've developed, I hope to provide farmers with faster, more affordable diagnostic options by performing testing in-house rather than relying on external laboratories.

MS in Histpathology, class of 2025
The faculty in the Histopathology program at TBES provide an integral, hands-on education and the introduction to technical skills that are needed in today’s laboratories. The Histopathology program has equipped me with the necessary skills to work as a histotechnologist in a demanding field. Through this program, I earned an internship that ultimately led to a full-time position in a Mohs Lab at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.

My time at Rowan was truly rewarding. I learned a great deal and grew significantly in maturity and perspective. I also made meaningful friendships within my class and met truly wonderful people who have become like brothers and sisters to me.
Our instructors, Dr. Neary and Dr. Demarest, were always there to support us, guide us, advise us, and answer our questions. During the final two months of the program, they also helped us prepare and refine our resumes and cover letters, and supported us in applying for jobs. One statement they shared has stayed with me: even after graduation, if we ever feel the need to improve a technique we learned there or to acquire a new one required in our workplace, we would always be welcome to return, and they would gladly help us. Rowan University and more specifically, the histopathology laboratory, feels like a second home to me, a place I can always return to for guidance and support whenever I need it.
